Pat Buchanan moved to Colorado from the East Coast in the early 1990s after attending Western Maryland College, where he studied Communications and Philosophy. During his college summers, Pat worked for a concrete company—laying the groundwork for what would become a lifelong career in construction. He earned his General Contractor’s license in 2001 and became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2009, bringing a thoughtful, sustainable approach to every project.
As the founder of Buchanan Construction Systems, Pat has been building in Boulder for over 30 years. His work is rooted in quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep respect for both the built environment and the people it serves. With an intimate knowledge of Boulder’s building regulations and strong, long-standing relationships with local architects, engineers, and subcontractors, Pat and his team bring vision to life with precision and integrity.
